One round. One athlete. No second take.
Travis Mathew needed content that made its collaboration with NFL athlete Ethan Bonner feel natural, premium and true to both sides of the partnership. With one round of golf at a premier Miami course, the challenge was simple: capture enough high-end photography and video to bring the collaboration to life without making it feel staged. Our team planned the production in Toronto, flew to Miami and had one window to get every moment right.
Don’t stage the lifestyle.
Let it happen.
A professional football athlete on a golf course already creates an unexpected contrast. Instead of forcing the collaboration into a traditional campaign setup, we leaned into it. Golf became the setting, the pace and the story—giving Ethan space to move naturally while the TravisMathew product lived where it made sense.
The goal was to make the audience feel like they had joined the round, not stepped onto a set.
Planned in Toronto.
Executed in Miami.
With only one round to work with, there was no room to figure it out on location. The production was mapped out before the flight, shot priorities, movement, pacing, product moments and the type of content the collaboration would need after the day was over.
Once we hit the course, the plan had to stay flexible. Natural light shifted, the round kept moving and every setup had to happen without disrupting the experience. We built the production around Ethan and the pace of play, capturing photography and video as the day unfolded rather than forcing the day around the camera.
Plan before the plane.
Shot priorities, creative direction and content needs were mapped in Toronto before production began.
Work with the round.
We followed the natural pace of play instead of turning the course into a traditional commercial set.
Capture for more than today.
Photography and video were built as a versatile library for social, campaign and future brand use.
One shot at the shot.
One athlete. One course. One round. Every frame had to earn its place.
THE TEAM
Turns out one round of golf requires a little more than one camera.
We brought a four-person team from Toronto to Miami to make sure every moment, movement and interaction had somewhere to live after the final putt dropped.
One round.
More than one moment.
A single day in Miami became a versatile library of photography and video built to give the Ethan Bonner × TravisMathew collaboration life beyond the course. The result felt natural to the athlete, true to the brand and useful long after the final putt dropped.
